This definition sounds to me like the opposite of science, or at least what someone who doesn't know any scientists thinks 'science' is. Science is nothing more than truth in advertising. It is high fidelity procedure based analysis.
Religious types are jealous that scientists are actually effective at improving and explaining the world, whereas vomiting up metaphysical colloquialisms about the physical world just makes smart people sound retarded.
