I love firefox, but there's something negative associated with the word 'spread' that I can't quite put my finger on.
You can spread herpies, you can spread something tasty on your toast in the morning, but I'd leave "spreading" software applications to Bonzy Interactive Inc. or whatever the fuck they're called these days.
It doesn't have to be their own IM network.
I could see Google coming out with a web-based IM client for an existing protocol, in line with their web-based desktop philosophy.
I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing a nice lightweight AJAX-stylee IM client built into my google account for when im not at home.
This is for "security" reasons, right? :P

It will be ok.. as long as it keeps that beautiful shade of green.
They already tap the phonelines, freely scan IM messages and email, what's a little more taking it up the ass from the man going to do...
I see what the problem is here, but for a serious project, what's the big deal with providing your own OpenGL DLLs along with your program?
