Sorry little ray of sunshine. You're dead wrong there. In Aust. (not so recently) a TV station was forced to settle when sued for libel against a retired politician (who was as crooked as they come). The reason? No where in the law does it say the truth is a defence. Impugning someones character is an offense though.
