What about attaching a Space telescope to the ISS? Maintainace would be much easier and it'll be a lot easier to extend it.

In virtually all countries you have a plain old telephone in your hotel. The next thing to do is getting the Access Numbers for the specfic country. (There are several providers for international internet access)

If luggage and money is unlimited in your trip you should search for a satellite dish.

A shell which understands perl syntax? I guess it wouldn't be that difficult to wirte a perl script which acts as a shell, perhaps someone has done that already. but who knows. But I see no need, why a shell needs be as complex as perl is.

Yes, Bourne Scripting has not the same possibilities as perl has. And if you dislike Bourne scripting, use !#/usr/bin/perl.

Why replace something that works? Because it looks more modern? I guess replacing the shuttle cockpit is very carefully planned thing and they updated it because after decades they had enough knowlegdle about what information a shuttle pilot needs and what not.

And the NASA Computers: Recently they have replaced the Computer onboard teh HST with an 386 and a solid-state disk to replace the tape-drives.

Russia has accepted the STARTII treaty. I guess there is a lot of nuclear meaterial left.

Now, why not using it in laptops?

With windows2k, the most secure OS in the world and "Homer for Laptops", a progam devolped at 'Springfield nuclear security' by H. Simpson to controll the mini-power-plant, such a laptop would be really fun!

2*H2 + O2 = 2*H20 -> that means on a PIII laptop, you've got a river running out of your laptop. Perhaps we could use it to cool the processor? Would sound very cool: "Hydrogen-Powered laptop with watercooled PIII cpu"

  9. Ever thought of the weight of a laptop? on Laptops In Education · · Score: 1
I think giving every student a laptop is just a Public-Realtions gag and nothing more.

Why do students need a laptop? To play Quake in the Bus? If there a workstations at school and a PC at home, they can access their files over the internet.

Carrying a laptop as a addition to the books is not very good for a student and the laptop. Replacing schoolbooks with eBooks is another thing, which would solve a lot of problems
