  1. Linking to mainstream media sites for science news on Breakthrough in Holographic Displays · · Score: 3, Informative

BBC's coverage is pretty lame. Slashdot would serve its readers better by linking to coverage at a science blog instead. For instance, Ars Technica's Nobel Intent science journal has a far superior writeup of the announcement.

  2. Ars coverage on RIAA Admits ISPs Have Misidentified "John Does" · · Score: 2, Informative

Ars Technica has some really in-depth coverage on the letter.

  3. Steve Linford speaks out on Perspectives on Spamhaus's Dilemma · · Score: 1

Spamhaus founder Steve Linford is pretty confident that ICANN won't do anything.

  5. Re:AMD-ATI not a good fit on Exploring the ATI/AMD Rumor · · Score: 1

  6. Decent combination of analysis on Exploring the ATI/AMD Rumor · · Score: 1

It's nice to see technical and financial analysis combined in the same article. It's a lot better than "we heard this over dinner at a Taiwanese hotel" anyway.

  7. Ars Technica has one up too on Tom's Hardware Looks at Microsoft Vista Beta · · Score: 2, Informative

Ars Technica "tour". While it doesn't take up 30+ pages, it also doesn't spend an inordinate amount of time covering what's changed in Windows Solitaire..
