If you are using Junkbusters or another proxy, it might be blocking something the submission needed.

The same error happened to me. I turned off my proxy and it submitted just fine.

If you are a registered user at the MSDN Online service, passport is required. It was changed to use it a few months ago. Before, the registration was separate from Passport, but, you could use Passport.

  3. Re:Try Verizon Wireless on What's The Best Cell Phone Calling Plan? · · Score: 1

Verizion has been very good so far for us. No roaming combined with Long Distance is great. We can use it just about anywhere and still get a Digital Connection. The more remote areas get analog, so check your coverage. Since we travel in metro areas, we're pretty much covered (Chicago, DC, Southern Fla).

One thing to be aware of is that the plan requires a Tri-Mode phone, and they can be quite pricey. There may still be a $50 rebate from Motorola available, and the stores run specials like 1/2 off.

Make sure you check out your service reps before buying from them. Ask around, not all Verizon stores (or authorized retailers) are the same for service. For example, ours will give us a loaner if the phone needs to go in for repairs. I've heard of some that may leave you high and dry or charge a fee for the phone. This review: http://goinside.com/00/7/verizon.html was very helpful and verified our decision.

If you live in New York, Eliot Spitzer is doing something to protect your privacy.

Drop him a line (if you're in NY) and let him know what is going on. Mention that the Privacy Statement is wrong on DoubleClick's web page, reference the Usa Today article, Agitate.

The AG's in NY have been pretty good about at getting the 'bad guys'.

  6. Re:Movie makers trying to turn it around? on DVD CCA Battle Continues Next Week · · Score: 1

The movie industry just did a business analysis of the issue. This will not effect their bottom line one bit. Going to court and fighting (and probalby losing) will hit the bottom line.

It comes down to this: Why would anyone copy a DVD to a video tape? Great quality to poor quality. The video is probably available in stores anyway.

Or, who would put a whole DVD on a hard drive? Space is cheap, but, HD's aren't that portable, not to mention trying to download that much data.

$$$ is the real issue and the movie industry isn't going to waste it on lawyers. The possible returns from winning are not equal to the lost revenue that would happen if they wait to issue more movies.
