    Similar to a grammar Nazi, a interface nazi will be forever nit picking about the placement of buttons or the layout of a particular window. They tend to be correct but don't contribute anything worthwhile to the projects that they are "contributing" to.

    phpMyAdmin has had more than its fair share of vulnerabilities and attacks.

    A better solution is to open the mysql port to the network (rather than local only). then using a ssh like connection, you can use whatever GUI you like. I would recommend MySQL's control centre (mysqlcc).
