Im sorry but who ever modded the arent post as funny mmust not have read it properly. The post was aimed at correcting an error or misleading information in the slashdot artice. He put one funny bit in it as a side comment not as the focus of his post, his post was more insightful or interesting.
Well there is no point just giving the money to the EU so they can have new offices, extra caviar or whatever. What would be better would be for the EU to then donate the money or a portion of it to F/OSS companies (like Ubuntu) or Mandrake or whatever. Also that would hurt MS even more because things like Linux distros would get even better because they could hire more developers and buy more licenses for not open source programs. That would allow them to compete with MS on a much fairer ground, which would make MS much more likely to open it up as they would be basically paying for thier rivals and competitors to expand and become better.
Just to correct a few grammatical errors it should not be ISP's it should be ISPs. The apostrophe makes ISP possesive yet there is nothing in that sentence owned by the word ISP. You are trying to make ISP plural with would simply be ISPs which is not possesive.
I think in the UK, Nominet's dispute policy covers domain squatters and they don't hardly ever go in favour of squatters. Maybe the same applies with ICANN contact them and report it and see how it goes from there.
