The point is not whether you have something to hide or not, but how much the government is able to intrude into a person's private life, upholding constitutional rights to privacy, not becoming a police state.
Even those who are doing something illegal still have a constitutional right to privacy in their personal lives (unless there is probable cause to have a search warrant issued).
