I'll admit I'm biased, as I'm a skinhead. But I agree with this.. I live in New Zealand, we don't have 'african-americans'. But we do have the indigenous maori, and very large groups of polynesian/melanesian (sp?) pacific islanders. There are _heaps_ of maori/pacific island creches, preschools, schools, high schools, and teritary facilities. Both bilingual and 'total immersion' units where only the releveant non english language and culture is spoken/studied. This is normal and acceptable according to most people.. yet If I wanted to start a white/european only school, where students were only allowed in if they had xxx percentage european blood, and taught only celtic, germanic, viking or what have you languages and curriculum, then there would be an outcry of amazing magnitude.. just my 2 cents worth.. thou i'm sure i'll be moderated into oblivion for being honest *grin*
