Personally, I would be happy to guarantee my code, if I was ever involved in the deciding how much time was given to a particular module and not having unrealistic time restraints forced upon me.

In the real world however, it is often very hard to pin down exactly who is to blame for a certain failing. I think following a route of personal responsibility will ultimately end up with even more money being given to lawyers.

There's more than enough statistical proof about that. (Although statistics - crime statistics in particular - of course lie)

I.e. what you have just said has no basis.

Back in the real world, there are two types of criminals; those who believe they won't get caught, and the rest. Obviously, stiffer sentencing will deter those who don't believe 100% that they will get away with it.

We seem to have drifted away from the topic at hand. I merely suggested that those found guilty of the crime in question should receive a fairly stiff sentence as to deter other people out there with 'too much time, and busy fingers'.

If you are going to punish, punish properly. A lot of effort went into catching these criminals without proper punishment all that effort will be wasted.

PS. Whilst I don't agree with cutting people's hands off. It IS a very effect way of reducing crime, that has been proven to work.

Therefore; in this case setting a precendence of a heavy sentence may discourage others from similar activities.

Alternatively, they could not bother to send a hard copy and pass on the saving to the consumer, thereby making pay-per-view ever so slightly closer to the freely available copy we can all get these days anyway.

I hope people don't get paid to come up with this shit.

I didn't bother to read TFA, but I hope the normally laid-back Dutch courts impose a stiff sentence as a precedent.

However, seeing what I saw on a recent trip to Amsterdam, I wouldn't be surprised if they get away with a non-custodial sentence and a free blow-job.

  15. Alienophilia on Eight Charged in Episode III Early Release · · Score: 1

The movie bombed because it was 'shlock' and because of the lack of Ewoks.

Imagine how much more money they would have made if they had included a scene where Skywalker goes into a topless Ewok bar and see all the sexy caged fem-Ewoks teasing the punters with their tribal dances and sexy head shawls. My god, the movie might still be being shown in (certain) cinemas now.

Would anyone be interested seeing my 'concept art' for the about scene? Lucas never replied so I am willing to put them into the public domain.

    Peace.
