I owned a SharpVision series LCD projector. Within one year the red LCD panel went bad. I got it repaired under warranty. Then the green, repaired again. Then, just after the warranty expired (1 or 2 years) the blue went bad. At the time a new LCD panel was $1,200 according to the place where I bought it. So I called Sharp and went back and fourth with them for awile asking if they would replace it, because, to me, it seemed like a major problem.
They never did anything, I took it as "Too bad, your warranty is up not our fault"
