TikiWiki (http://tikiwiki.org/) does a nice job of handling lots of different types of info, from Wiki pages via FAQs, Forums, Calendars, Shared Files and Pictures to Blogs and RSS feeds. It also allows you to send queries to your legacy databases and has a webmail interface (which even allows you to request/send Wiki pages by email !)
The whole thing is nicely packaged for you to turn off the modules you don't (yet) need - using it with different customers and internally. And no, I don't have any business connection - I'm just a very happy user/administrator!
