    One advantage of LaTex is that it separates information from presentation. Many of the Ph.D papers have to be reformated for the proper widths, line height, etc.

    Not to mention one person had to redo 8 hours of changes because his advisor used Mac Word instead of Windows word.

    So that's 900 * 5.14% = 46.26

    That still seems odd.

    How is 0.42 of a domain clearly fake?

    Microsoft if the proverbial 500-pound gorilla.

    Hosting companies would be wise to avoid Microsoft, but so would Sony (Play Station 2), RIM (Smart Phone), Adobe (PDF, Flash), etc.

    If I owned a software company, I would declare war on Microsoft.
    - Remember that every dollar you give M$ is ever additional dollar they can use against you.
    - Ensure that your products worked on Microsoft, but also Mac and Linux.

    Royalties would be what is accomplished.

    The LZW algorithm that was patented and people had to pay royalities.

    With all the other posts describing prior art, I don't think this claim will hold up.

    It would be easy for them to modify existing application to censor.

    The class project could reinforce the different parts of OSS.
    • Discuss Licenses;
    • Discuss possible projects;
    • Create a Source Forge Project; and
    • Create Assignments for the different students, e.g., have a webmaster, coders, documenters, etc.
    That would be really cool.
