I guess I’m just trying to say that good parenting should be about letting your kids grow up safely into holistic people – and that includes a developed sexual identity.
As much as *I* agree, you're assuming parents actually want holistic children. I'd imagine they're much more interested in having their children grow up to be similar to them, with similar values. Your average parents, and especially the more conservative ones, probably don't *want* their kid to decide that maybe they like people of their own sex better, or that orgies are exciting and enjoyable for some people. This is where "protecting the children" comes in. I think being well-rounded sexually is a good thing, but I imagine a lot of parents with teenage sons or daughters disagree.
While I agree with the gist of your post, the point of view taken by anti-abortion advocates is that abortion is murder. And I don't think even the staunchest libertarian would advocate the government not punishing murder.
As a couple of people have said before, the difference is money. If they sell a mash-up CD without paying royalties, it's bad. It it's just an amateur, I don't see the problem with it.
Seriously. I bought the new White Stripes CD and it clipped on every single bass drum hit on the louder songs. There's a lot of music that I would like, but even the uncompressed CD is really hard to listen to.
It's not so much about what it costs to make it, but the perceived value by the customer. A good game has a lot more entertainment value that a movie, IMO. It can be replayed more without getting old, thus consumers are willing to pay more for it, and Microsoft knows this. It's still defiantly more than I'm really willing to spend though.
No one's saying that. The case here is she ISN'T a lesbian, so this is libel. If you said something good about someone, when it isn't true, it would still technically be libel.

I personally do. I only get music that's 192 kbs or higher, but I can find it just fine.

Says the person posting on Slasdot...
But "Average Joe" really doesn't get HDTV. My guess is 75% of PS3s hooked up to HDTVs, will be connected by the RCA video in 480i.
