Too, how many (documented) massive identity theft rings are of the "gaining access to personal computers" ilk? None that I can think of.
Stealing a laptop isnt that hard, and its not like all identity theft is conducted by rings
I think many of the programs already exist for high end desktops they just want to make less resorce intensive programs for handhelds. IT might be useful for installing on a 90 mhz 486 with 16 mb of ram i suppose. You could give a computer running software like that on a computer like that to impovrished people.
Many people are given the option of putting rfid tags in pets nowadays when they have the pets first vet visit. Our cats and dogs all have them and you wouldnt even know they were there, and none of them seems to be having problems with it. Personally i think its a good idea. If you can figure out how to enforce it then you have a great system to keep owners of large animals in control.
Not to mention the rising waters flooding pacific islands. Good trade off, cruise destinations in the pacific get flooded, and cruise destinations in the polar region open up.
