I am also a graduate student in organic chemistry. In my time doing professional research, I have only encountered one scientist (chemist or otherwise) who did not believe in evolution. He was a nut job, a terrible chemist, and prayed for new compounds. I kid you not. No one took him seriously. Only this one person, and I'm from the heart of bible-thumping country in the midwest. I know plenty of anti-evolution and anti-Darwinian people--but only one in any kind of scientific field. I think that scientsts are taught to question and think, two things that are not done by those who do not believe in evolution.
Yes, I don't have my PhD yet. But I have never talked to anyone who held a PhD that did not believe in evolution, regardless of the field.
