This is what scares me. My friend just lost his father to a cell phone impaired driver. I can just imagine what this would do.
I'm all for wireless (have 802.11b at home now), but I fear things like this would happen (yes I know the parent was intended to be humorous). I'm just not sure what could be done about it. I like personal freedom, dislike too much gov't regulation, but don't trust in the intelligence of my fellow road warriors. Any ideas?
Not only that, but how much economic damage (DR DOS, Netscape, etc.) has been caused by Microsoft's monopolistic practices, for which they have been found guilty, and with nothing but a toothless consent decree as punishment? So their endorsement of this is good?
I agree, but you could probably do 3 movies just on FotR and still leave stuff out. I think Jackson got the important things in to setup the next two films.
I'm with you. I'd buy/watch a page by page translation of the book on film, but I know it ain't gonna happen. I loved the movie, but noticed afterwards that I was picking it apart scene by scene. I guess I've read the books too many times (once a year for the last 15 years or so) and now know it by heart, so that anything that strays I notice.
My mom, who has never read the books, saw it (which surprised the heck out of me) and loved it. Same for my wife. So I guess in that sense PJ did, as you said, made the right decisions.
