  1. Taiwanese Media on Twitter Tax Controversy Explained In Cartoon Form · · Score: 1

I have seen these videos on and off for some years now but its only when I have taken a close look at Taiwan to see how a vibrant media and lead to quirky informative news briefs like this. Bit insane to think an island of twenty million has as many tv + radio feeds as is, not to mention one of the hardest wired countries.

  2. Re:The problem isn't the education. on How Do You Fix Education? · · Score: 1

It is true that math must be engaging, challenging, and "progressive". The reason why we're not getting the needed science majors is that math education is simply abysmal, and students often the lose the much needed early development that is intended to occur while taking Alg and Geom. We end up with stupids who were motivated in middle school, but are completely sick and afraid of math. And we also have a huge amount of willing students failing their initial calculus classes due to poor preparation. All math is built upon those few introductory classes, and they must be the best in order to correctly deliver such key knowledge.

Why just limit yourself to creating orbiting or shielded habitats when you can just create the real thing? With self-replicating robots you could throw enough material to Venus to simply sequester the huge amount of C02 and pave the way to a human friendly environment.

I find wikipedia to be an excellent source for history in many different eras. Their complex battle listings and dynasty lines are unparalleled by any other source. So it can atleast stand up to Encyclopedia Britannica in terms of history.

At least ISU is spending somewhat wisely, but I have heard of some really stupid purchases. Such as spending 3k for Graphics design computers for use as word processors. And you wonder why tuition is rising and extreme rates..

  8. Not that hard to find evolution on Federal Judge Rules Against Intelligent Design · · Score: 1

Whether you consider evolution fact, or a scientific theory. It isn't very hard to see evolution how dirty a process it is. If we were intelligently designed by God ,why would he bother to give humans coccyx or the appendix? Which serve no point in any major systems in the body.
