  1. Re:Not to be facetious or anything on Unpiloted Passenger Jet Tests · · Score: 1

Uninformed conjecture: I would imagine the drones operate on parameters set by the pilot relative to the command craft. Without instruction, the drones fly in a formation. The pilot just indicates actions that deviate from that formation. A great benefit would be coordinated weapons control. Software can figure out some triangles with radar information and targets would be hit from multiple directions simultaneously.

and all copies and generations of said virus spontaneously mutated to a safer form? I'd think even Michael Crichton would think of that as poo poo. I know I read it like 15 years ago and all I remember is the blinkinlights triggered some guys seizure.

I don't know anything about Stephensons thoughts on the matter, but I think Snowcrash could be a great movie, and not as difficult as Enders Game to pull off. (apple seeds and orange groves, btw) Though a lot of the juicy descriptions and historical reference would be lost in a film. A series might do it, it's starts with a bang so it would get an audience first and lose them later, speaking of lost...

  4. Seattle has a mostly useful Trip Planner on Google Transit Now In Beta · · Score: 1

What I would like to see is some advanced query options, with things such as "I would rather walk for 30 minutes than wait for 20", more flexibility in defining how far you are willing to walk and whether you are on a bike. In addition to GPS location of busses it would be cool (and not cost effective) to report if the bike racks have spaces available. A guy that works on Seattle Metros Trip Planner said that some new stuff is being planned but depends on public funding (ouch) and that's (2 days ago) when I thought it would be fun to get all the schedule data and many other parameters and write my own and privatize it (Like I gathered is done in Chicago) but I imagine Google with do a good job with it--knock on silicon.
