welcome our new interstellar overlords!
Seriously, I just installed Eve on my bootcamp partition. Though it would be nice to not reboot, or worse, use Parallels (BSOD w/VMWare Fusion when starting game), I don't see what the big deal is. Gimme a native port, and I will celebrate.
Still, this is one step in the right direction.
The REAL scientists can just make due, as they have done throughout history. They might realize the fantasy that computing via machine will pick up the slack, then put the ignorant masses to work pushing buttons. Oh, wait, that is how research is conducted at the university and corporate levels.
Don't get me wrong, maths and sciences are necessary toward the progression of the race. However, let's be realistic. Advancement in the sciences will come through the actions of dedicated individuals. Regardless of what they are exposed to, their minds will always have questions to which they will seek out answers.
And yea, those questions are pretty lame. That is indisputable. My stance, however, remains the same.
...wow. I really wanted to see what a $1,000,000 notebook would look like. Apparently, so does the rest of the 'net. How lame... I guess I'll never understand the privileged. After trying three or four times to see it, I was finally greeted by a page that showed three very lame pictures that I conclude were nothing more than mockups.
Now, since this will be running a M$ OS (I will go ahead and assume,) what are the spoiled shits that actually purchase one to do when it, inevitably, gets hosed up from malware? Oh, wait. They will just dispose of it, like they do to the countless souls that they had to trample in order to afford such a luxury.
Sorry for the rant. But this is ridiculous.
Assuming that since this iteration of XFCE is going to support desktop icons, I would have to say yea. Thunar is very nice, on par with Finder (OS X) and Explorer (Windows.) IMHO, better. Mousepad works great as well.
And yea, try and not confuse a Window Manager, such as fluxbox, with a Desktop Environment, such as XFCE. The difference is features such as file managers. I am not a guru, but even I know that you can't compare apples to oranges...
BTW, Zenwalk has included Thunar and Mouspad since at least the 3.0 release, perhaps before. I am not sure, as release 3.0 was the first that I'd used it.
Just a thought here, free will aside. The complexities of the human brain seem to be totally ignored in reference to the tumor of the pedophile. There is certainly no doubt that the very uniqueness of each case involving tumors would not lend itself to an absolute judgment, such as the logical path followed by previous posters: That if a brain tumor causes sexual deviance, and that all tumors are equal (this is implied in their arguments,) that all brain tumors should cause sexual deviance. This completely ignores the importance of location and type of tumor.
I would assume that this tumor was located somewhere between the prefrontal cortex and the hypothalamus, most likely the former due to the change in preference. The prefrontal cortex is involved with many cognitive functions, so there were probably many other behavioral changes that took place, but looked over due to the severity of his sexual dysfunction. Move that tumor slightly, and it may have displayed very different changes, or none at all.
Sparks and squirts folks, that's how behaviors are generated. Disrupt the sparks and squirts, and disrupt behaviors.
While you are correct concerning the side effects of the transformer on the BPL signal, you mis-identified the voltages... The 220V power that you speak of is actually two 110V lines out of phase with one another, creating a 220V difference. Typical transmission lines operate around 7,200V. This is because higer voltage is less likely to incur a voltage drop over long transmission distances. Sorry, I'm really not a jerk. I just like correct info.
