Actually, as an end consumer who can tell the difference between a rotten banana and a fresh one, a sticker indicating the level of hidden pesticides and other chemicals would be more beneficial.
Which is why I refuse to divulge my SSN# to Medical Clinics. I either make one up or flatly refuse. They say, well we need it. I say for what. They say that is how we sort our records. I tell them to make up a number and use that instead, while reminding them it is illegal to use a SSN for anything but SS.
In the USA if someone misuses your credit card on the Internet (card not present), the merchant is liable for the loss not the card company or card holder. The reason card not present fraud is so easy in the USA is the card company actually profits from the fraud ($15-50.00 chargeback fee) so they have no incentive to introduce more secure methods of card fraud protections that already exist.
