  1. They deserve what they get on YouTube Breeding Harmful Scientific Misinformation · · Score: 1

Anyone who takes medical advice from you-tube deserves to die, it's called evolution. Unless it's because a brain tumor has impared their judgement, in which case they're a gonner anyway.

  2. Re:Windows & Make Available Offline on Laptop/Server Data Synchronization? · · Score: 1
I'm amazed you have so little idea of how your technology works. The Windows Offline files could not be more defective by design if they tried.

Offline files is global and is the same offline files for everyone using the computer so if someone else uses the same computer they don't have full access to all your file the whole thing dies in the ass.

It ALWAYS uses the server copy and then syncs it back to the HDD, So if you go to a remote branch and plug in to the network it accesses the files over the WAN even though they are right there on the HDD and it then sycns over the WAN AGAIN, couldn't be more stupid if it tried.

And don't even think about using Microsoft Access! An MDB file in your offline folders will stuff it up completly. What? You thought a Microsoft product would be DESIGNED to work with another Microsoft product? I'm sorry I didn't catch which outer planet you just landed from...

  3. Manage the White space! on Transitioning From Developer To Management? · · Score: 1

Best advice I got when I was faced with this same developer to manager thing years ago. Unfortunately the two skill sets are often not in the same person, being good at one often means you'll be crap at the other. So the advice I got from a mentor at the time was 'Manage the White Space'. Know what everyone is supposed to be doing, make sure they are doing it and manage all the bits in between their jobs so they can continue to do their jobs wihtout hassles. All that takes is common sense. If you don't have common sense you're screwed. Worked for me. My staff don't hate me and my managers don't think I'm an idiot (yet), so I'll take that as success.

If the US changed their policy on allowing stupid dumbasses from holding important postions, like President, his closest advisors, spooks and spys that are supposed to be protecting the country. A simple change like making stupid dumbass CONTRA indicated instead of MANDATORY I think things would go a lot smoother over all.

  5. maybe the fad will die out? on Viral Marketing Breeding Cynicism · · Score: 1

I hope the fad of metoo-tubes that are popping up everywhere will hasten the demise of these pointless video sites. Once they are forced to remove the copyrighted materials that shouldn't be there, what's left? Stranger's home videos and marketing pretending to be stranger's home vidoes. Why would you want to waste bandwidth watching either? And why on earth would you believe any of it if you did?

I'm amazed the Americans made this about them so quickly. All the Oz govement want to do is know who they are giving tax payer's money to. If you don't want to the card, don't get one and don't put your hand out for free money. Simple.
