Just out of curiosity, how do you make those changes without having a veto-proof majority in the Senate? Yes, some of this could have been handled via executive orders, and Obama deserves shit for that.

But, the fact of the matter, is that Obama couldn't just open the doors of GITMO, and anything else would require congressional approval, something which the GOP has refused to permit.

And yes, if we never move forward, it took the ISPs in Seattle a decade to move beyond 4mbps connections and in some parts of the city, they still had 1.5mbps max up until recently. The rate at which the country is moving forward on this, we could be talking about 20 years before connections like that are common.

The sort of specialization that we've seen in recent decades is a really big problem. Few problems of any size in the world are truly solvable with only one area of specialty. Economics, pollution, humanitarian crises, health care and such require that one be capable of working across specialties with people who have studied other things.

Those subjects you're complaining about are what makes it possible for people to do that. What's more, very few people these days will spend an entire career in one field and the more subjects you've been exposed to the more likely that you'll be able to adapt.

But, lastly and possibly most importantly, studying and thinking in different ways is good for your brain.

But, I think the higher resolution on the newer displays, along with the better refresh rate are far more useful than the color aspect. Whether or not reincarnation is real has never been a particularly important facet of Buddhism nor of any of the other reincarnation related religions. The whole point of them is to not be reincarnated. If that's because reincarnation doesn't exist, then mission accomplished.

The point is, that rather than mouthing off like a jackass about things you know nothing about, perhaps listening to the guy that's trying to explain what the idea is before slashing it to pieces would be appropriate.

The reality here is that reincarnation does not have to be real for Buddhism and Hinduism to make a person's life better. Furthermore, if ones life isn't getting better, by ones standards, then one should choose a new religion and try again. Karma and reincarnation are just masking that's done to help the mind create proper thoughts, they do not have to be real in order to exert influence on ones life. Only behavior, thought and intention are what matters.

Whether or not reincarnation is real, the idea is that people get reincarnated as people and any sort of living creature that exists. So, there's no need to be enough humans at any given time for the idea to hold, as long as there are enough living things. What's more it's been accepted theory for many centuries that only a very small fraction ones incarnations are as humans, most of the time it's as things like ants and spiders.

Or, that's the theory anyways, reincarnation is really more of a framework than a thing. It's not intended to be the driving force for ones life, just a framework for understanding how to live life in the context of the greater picture. You don't burn down the world because previous generations didn't and you have an obligation to future generations as well.
