    Huh? I don't see how anyone is forced to buy a computer. If it's such a big deal that your computer come without Windows, find one that has an operating system you like. Linux laptops and desktops do exist despite what the trolls here will tell you.

    If your any-operating-system-phone was real

    It's not. The idea was you substitute in whichever smartphone operating system you felt like and completed the sentence.

    Or about android tablets being sold with android on them, or smart phones with [choose any operating system] on them. Hardware is useless without software, software is useless without hardware. It makes perfect sense to bundle the two together.

    You're arguing semantics and that's not the case here so it's kind of irrelevant. The workers have the choice to go back to their villages and work as subsistence farmers (which is far far worse).

    The part of slavery that is fundamentally wrong isn't hard work and poor conditions. It's owning another human being as property. It's not having the freedom to pursue your own destiny. Foxconn workers have the freedom to quit their jobs if they choose to. Slaves do not.

    Really? I'm a fanboy because I posted factual information without any opinions? Uh huh.

    Lumia phones have only been on sale for 2 months and only in a handful of countries. Even still, they managed to somewhere around 1.3 million of them according to bloomberg. The numbers in the summary come from TFA where the author spends about 5 paragraphs extrapolating from numbers he apparently pulled out of his ass.

    I can't find real sales figures for the N9.

    The commissions I'm talking about don't come from the stores, they come from Apple and Google. Microsoft doesn't pay anything out yet (there is $100 million set aside for marketing in the first half of 2012).

    It's nothing to do with return rates. Sales staff make commissions on selling androids and iPhones but not on WP7. There have been anecdotal stories of sales staff that have refused to even sell WP7 phones to people that walk in looking for one. They will try to push an android isntead.

    Nope. There is no indication that this guy wrote the botnet as part of his job. A more likely explanation is that he used his employment to gather information about how to avoid antivirus software killing his botnet.
