Or try looking for another job in a smaller firm where you could have a hand in more than just IT.
Or,if you just have to leave IT, think about what you would enjoy doing most, find a field using that with similar pay and take some classes to prepare for that change. The classes may be enough distraction to allow you to enjoy your job, but if they are not, you are still preparing for a change.
I keep my COAs as proof, if that is not the proof I need then what do I need to show Microsoft if they try to turn off my updates?

That is true, I learned to program in my agriculture class. Not because my ag teachers know how, but because they were willing to let me learn on the computers in their classrooms. I ended up teaching one HTML.
The agriculture education program in my school is about the only program willing to stand behind a student, and help them pursue any passion for learning.
