  1. Laziness and Selfishness... on Anti-Spam Webforms Leave Out The Blind · · Score: 0, Flamebait

At a whopping 0.4% of the population, the blind are an extremely small minority. While I am sensitive to the need for somethings that everyone should be accessible to, this is not a need. If they desire change, start coding and stop talking. Come up with a better solution and implement it. The world's web pages can't center around every group of people, but merely the largest, widest audience. It's not all about you people. Life is a struggle, get over it.

  2. Re:Good Movie, couple of issues on Review: Behind Enemy Lines · · Score: 1

Actually with the current, and even a few years older, arsenal of the apache helicopter, this is quite possible, with their hellfire missiles(tank killers) and large front mounted swiveling cannons. There are also additional arms, but I won't get into them. Oh yeah, I haven't seen the movie though, so this is only fact, without all the facts of the movie.

  4. Academic Bullshit on Academic Dishonesty-When Is It REALLY Cheating? · · Score: 1

Ok lets talk about academics here. The whole academic dishonesty thing is actually to be interpretted by the instructor in their syllabus. Or at least that is usually how it is done. However, usually the professors have a fairly blanket policy: do it yourself. Anyway, the difference between a book that is published and intended to be used as a reference book and your classmate is that you are supposed to be learning. For the most part, the code should be original, unless it requires soe obscure algorithm or the like. In school, no matter where it is, the programs are usually so basic that it shouldn't be that difficult, even the browser we had to make in DataComm. So just to be on the safe side, think it up for yourself. If the teacher then has a problem because you were on the same proverbial page as someone else, then let em have it with a big BITE MY ASS! Just make sure you have the personality, charm and great grade to be able to say it.

  5. Did any of you actually watch this? on Sen. Hatch Warns Labels: Don't Make Me Come Spank You · · Score: 1

I must say, judging from the content and subjects discussed in some of these comments it is quite obvious to me that few of you actually watched this for yourselves. I on the other hand stumbled upon the last half of this program(not the whole thing because I didn't stumble onto it until half way through) and got some information first hand. As for the many comments of "..cure AIDS, feed the starving...blah blah blah", Have you actually looked at the way our government works? In fact, it could not function if everyone focused on one problem because there are so many issues to deal with. There are a ton of committees that discuss hundreds of different topics, almost like multi-tasking but not really.
Now that I have gotten that off my chest lets talk about what was actually said and what went on in reality. In reality, I was surprised that the senators(yes most of them) admitted that they were not well versed in the ways of technology and that they were depending on people like the few that were in front of them to help them have a better understanding of what was going on and how things worked. Also, the senators asked some very good questions that appropriately addressed the issues. Some were to the affect of, how is this any different that recording to a tape off of the radio isn't it the same thing. I won't say this is a quote because I don't remember the exact questions but I do know that I was highly impressed to see these senators led by Sen. Hatch do there job and do it well and thoroughly. I for one support this move in partial licensing as well as the fair use policy. I may be just as bad about MP3's as any of the rest of you(even those saying how terrible stealing of music is, cause we all know they have MP3's on their systems as well) but I still think that it is stealing. But if a small fee was charged by say napster then I know I would pay it(this is not I think I would, I know).

  6. about fusion on Combining New/Old Approaches for Nuclear Fusion · · Score: 1

From what I know, and this may be incorrect, of basic physics it is impossibile to get energy from a reaction where you put two particles together. It takes energy to put things together. Since fusion is actually the "fusing", combining, of two atoms(or atomic particles or whatnot) then wouldn't you actually have to put energy into it an therefore be wasting energy. I am just curious as to where the energy comes from, the energy that everyone is talking about. Now this isn't to say I know I am write but could someone tell me what the real deal is, and I mean someone qualified. Not some college student that has taken a couple of physics classes like me.
