The Toshiba Libretto 100 and 110CT's have wide screens 800*480. You can't install RedHat with the Anaconda graphics installer because buttons are placed below the screen where you can't click. Anaconda probably thinks that all 800 horizontal screens have 600 vertical resoloution.
Other than that, it works fine. You just have do a text install and then download (or write) a custom X configuration.
Roses can work great early too. I found a girl on kiss.com (yes, I spend more time online than offline) that I started writing letters to. Of course, a girl putting up an ad saying "single attractive female looking for long term relationship" gets mail bombed. I sent her some roses and a 200 pieces box of chocolate as well. The same day she wrote back to me asking when I would come over!:-)
I am using a serial port device, the USRobotics (aka 3Com) Courier I-Modem. There is nothing slow about this device. I have 30 ms ping and 64kb throughput to the corporate net I dial into. Though I admit that I haven't tried 128kb, mainly because the serial port in my computer don't support more than 115kb (the I-Modem will do 230kb).
If you can't find BSD software like the PPTP proxy for Linux, then you have to disable NAT for the PPTP traffic through BSD. Configure the BSD machine to route the PPTP packets (both TCP/1723 and GRE) without rewriting them.

Why don't somebody buy a truckload of these machines and put them up on eBay? Preferably someone who is prepared to ship internationally.
