Don't get me wrong. This is a nice feature for sure. But I'm missing more important ones which could improve usability a lot. What I'm missing:
* maximize windows vertically/horizontally by right mouse click * drag windows from one desktop to another (not by ways of the pager) * switching desktops with mouse wheel
movie88 vs. film88 - 88 stands for "Heil Hitler" here in Germany. As it is not allowed the say this publicly, 88 (H being the 8th letter in the alphabet) is commonly used by neo-nazis to get around this prohibtion.
So many bars or shops carry the 88 in their name to show that they are meant for nazis.
As I couldn't find any explanation why film88 chose this strange name I give the question back to the/. community. Does anybody know something about the history of these names?
Ok, it's not a mini-distro, but it's a Linux you can carry around with you and can start it without installation:Knoppix.
Knoppix boots from CD and brings up a complete KDE including Koffice, OpenOffice, Kdevelop, Mozilla, many tools for recovery and security. Last but not least your CDRW is supported too. All this is done by having a compressed image on CD with approximatly 2GB of size. As there are still about 20MB free space you can add some of your own stuff to the image - very call for, say, presentation and the like.
You can download a bootable disc-image here.
Unfortunately the whole site is german only and I'm afraid all of the documentation too. But as it is really easy to use just give it a try!
Use http://jsjac.jabberstudio.org/ to build your own web-based jabber client or use derived work like JWChat or MUCkl.
http://jwchat.org/ (what the ... is meebo?)
Is it possible to create OSS with it?
You're talking about upcoming IE 7.0 of course, don't you? ;-)
Perhaps I just don't get it, but why make this a feature of single client instead of a feature of an opensource protocol like jabber?
Did you take a look at JWChat? It's a web based jabber client. ;-)
O.K. it's written by me, so I have to say that it is definately coool

and how many of them are open source?
I don't understand. I am using Linux not because I think it is the best OS available but because it is free software. OS X is not an option then.
*lol*
think I forgot the ":-)"
What about switching to windows 2003 to be able to switch to linux again for the next netcraft study?
