other nations are not interested in building weaponization technology in space right now, and therefore you make a good point that building up-to-date satellites that defend themselves--of sorts. most nations that disagree with such plans are more interested in using ground missiles. there are few nations interested in policing such technology even less of those have the economical security to establish technology that could rival the U.S.'s in the case of spatial military.
