Actually, it's San Diego Road Runner (http://www.san.rr.com), not San Jose. The Road Runner of Central NY (http://www.twcny.rr.com) staff members that I spoke with (they probably all know me well by now) have admitted that they allow web server apps and ftp server apps to be running on their customers' machines while using their service. The contract never defined "server", and my copy is already signed and binding to both parties involved! *laugh* Just as a side-thought, their staff boasted to me over the phone that an open port 25 is only part of the commercial package for $80/month (twice what I pay). First, that's extortion (but I don't have the money to fight them in court while they tell the judge they have more affordable options already planned for "sometime in the future"). Second, their web site makes no mention of port 25 anywhere that I could find, which makes for dishonest/misleading advertising (or unethical at best). Visit my web page (http://bedrock.dyndns.org/dejay) if you want to know more about the hassles that I've been going through with them. - DeJay.
