I used sageTV until I decided to get a HD tuner (DVICO dual tuner, forget the model name) since I was connecting to a 42'' plasma. Despite beta support for DVB-T sageTV did not work with the card at all (not blaming them, but was frustrating) so I went for MCE which works flawlessly. I should probably have tried mythTV but linux bugs me (granted I haven't used it properly in years).
All in all MCE is prettier than sageTV, but not quite as functional (no wildcard favourities is about the only thing missing really). More expensive too, unless you are building from scratch and need to factor in windows+sageTV, then MCE is probably equivalent.
Ok, i'm not a Linux person, in fact I can definately be labelled a pro-windows person (since I am a big PC gamer, and a windows developer by trade), but I have yet to build a windows system that is a "literal Plug and Play" setup, and if you mean "I want a pre-configured dell and don't want to have to do anything to make things work" then linux is as good a choice as windows since everything is preconfigured to work anyway.
Seriously, linux is just as easy to set up for normal use as windows, in many cases a hell of a lot easier (download a ubuntu image, burn to cd, viola), and can do virtually anything you want from a plug and play system except for gaming, and very specific applications.
I live with a couple of mates, me (a very BAD guitarist, but have played guitar), a friend who is a very good guitarist, and another friend who is a good pianist, but has never played guitar. The guitarist just completed expert (the game came out here a month ago, and he's been stuck on the Cowboys from Hell and Bark at the Moon for a week), and has 4 stars on most of the expert songs. I can get through most of the first 15 songs on Hard, and my pianist friend is probably stuck on the middle medium songs. A couple other friends who are also decent guitarists, are about on par with me (with much less practice) and I would expect them both to eclipse my skill in a few more tries.
I'd say skill on a guitar makes a pretty big difference to the guitar hero skill from my observations. Either that or I'd like to think my own inadequacies at the game relate to lack of guitar skill and not that I'm crap at video games.
The thing I find most ridiculous about this is the constant amount of "gay-bashing" found in general chat everywhere. I personally believe it is a bit of a double standard to allow general chat along the lines of "Someone come kill this fag NE Rogue that's camping my ass", but then don't allow advertisement or even acknowledgement or a guild designed to allow players to avoid it.
But i guess it's 'acceptable' these days because everyone says it and it doesn't mean anything anymore... right...
Ahh, who am I to judge what they allow or don't allow, maybe i'll just start petitioning everytime someone says fag or gay with a little comment mentioning this whole thing.

Umm, how exactly would that cause any problems... unless of course you mean to remove the shoes once they get to the destination?
