I have gone over my training budget every year, though management may sometimes complain they're getting a ROI as soon as I get back from training. With training you are less likely to break things, create more efficient work, and definitely more secure work.
Your company should provide time off to cover the training course. It should be billed to over-head and it's a write off for them. If your company doesn't provide these sorts of benefits, you're probably working in an IT sweat shop. Don't burn out, push back and make them realize that you have a life outside of work.
