  1. Re:Nuclear power arguments on Engineers Find Nuclear Meltdown At Fukushima Plant · · Score: 0

The biggest wind farm in the world produces 781.5 MW of power over an area of 400km2. The Fukushima Daiichi complex produces 4,696 MW of power at full capacity with a footprint of 3.5km2 (excluding offsite spent fuel storage, but still a smaller footprint). Wind power is great and all but you need a mix of energy sources to make it practical for a country.

TFA does not say if the clerk was unhappy because the girl was grumpy or he was just trying to cheer her up (shock, horror). You on the other hand must be a riot at parties. You definitely showed what a grumpy cunt you are (oops, did I say that?), but hey don't let that dampen your sense of entitlement.

We're using both - about five days from our "go-live", and things look good. We just use what makes sense for each part of our application. For us, this means PostreSQL for the parts that must be transactional ACID, and Amazon's S3 and SimpleDB for parts that don't.

That makes sense, until you need to generate reports from the tables. How are you managing trying to do that?

No, you can't. That's flat out wrong.

Standard disclaimer: I am not a qualified tax agent. You might potentially stand to gain if you are just below the Medicare levy threshold and you don't have private insurance. You lose 1% of your taxable income (not just the portion above the threshold) to the levy so yes there may be taxation benefits. So if you earn between 73,000 and 73,729 for 2009-2010 you can gain *some* tax benefits, but ask your accountant, don't rely on me (I may be wrong!)

I'm not sure if they want to do it right or if it's just a calculated move to keep the masses from upgrading their phones every time a new version comes out. It just has to be "good enough" to sell the current version. After all, there is one less reason to upgrade if it is already available on version N-1. Apple is the king of marketing after all!
