"Suse 10.0 is a little slow and clunky on my Athlon 64 3500+ w/1gb ram but it's tolerable." What? SUSE 10.0 (SuSE, suzy, whatever) always ran sweetly on any nearly new system I installed it on. Maybe you should upgrade to Vista?
