I beg to differ. There is much more competition in the gaming industry than between browsers. With IE controlling 90% of the market share for so long, they haven't had the motivation to improve. On the other hand, the gaming industry has 3 very real and viable competitors (Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo). Competition drives progress much more than cooperation.
