If you're reading this Nitrozac, did you put the binary in the reply just to see how many different ways people would post about decoding it? Personally I used the shell, dc and printf to do my translation. I did:
% for x in `dc > { > printf "%b" "\0$x" > }
the binary file was basically the binary text of the reply, with this header:
2 i [f]
and this footer:
00001010 [o] 8 f
You could even put the text of both messages in the same file (and put a 00001010 between them).
I like the idea of tagged moderation. But I think the point of this is not that there will b a lot more moderators that "may have their own agenda" I think the point is that a/. user can choose to see a less crap filled view of the world. If you still want to see all the "first posts" and posts that contain nothing useful, just set your threshold lower. Personally I didn't read all the comments before because there were too many stupid off topic ones, and it was hard to weed through them. I think this system will work out well. As far as switching to NNTP goes, I like this style better. You read the article, then you can read the comments easily.
The other bonus I think will be more accountability. I think you will see less AC posts. More people will start using the the user accounts, if for nothing else then to change the threshhold from it's default of 0.
Well, what I got from the article was that if a given country already allowed encryption A to be exported from their country, then the US would allow encryption A to be exported into their country. This of course could potentially cause more head aches for developers like yourself, since you would have to say something like: "If you are in the UK, France, Japan, or the US, feel free to download..." Maintaining a list of countries where export was possible would be a pain.
I thought Life Is Beautiful was one of the best movies of the year. It was an italian film, with sub-titles. Don't let that throw you off, the whole film was pretty funny. It was a comedy about the nazi death camps. I thought it was very touching. (yuck did I use the word touching?!?) I saw it over thanksgiving, you might be able to find it some places I would definitely recomend it.
As far as tv goes I only watch three shows, Simpson's, X-Files (skipping that's lame-ass show, uhh I mean that 70's show) and occasionally Law & Order. Take those in any order.

Is there a web page stating this, or where did the info come from?
