    I believe that most of these inane acronyms are actually spun up by marketing/product management droids and not by the people who actually create the products.

    There *used* to be INCENTIVES for American engineers to innovate. Now those incentives exist primarily for H1B's.

    Yeah, I even got my kid sister to install it once to prove a point to a naysayer. BUT (hehe) go read the source for sysinstall and you'll see what I was snikkering about :-)

    Uhm, I dunno so much about "Posix compliant".

    Not that it isn't Posix _compatible_ in a lot of areas, BSD is its own universe having been spun off from the Bell Labs nebula.

    Or at least not grasping your concept of it. Face it, not all uses of Open-Source software fall under GPL guidelines. It's important to remember that major software such as OpenSSH and OpenSSL are licensed otherwise and may be used for proprietary applications.
