ATI said that their chips will do something that they will not. People bought ATI products with the understanding that they are HDCP compliant when they are not. That has caused substantial damages that the government is not going to fix.
Our checks-and-balance system in this country is supposed to be headed up by the government. When politicians allows large corporations to do basically anything they want, then it is up to the court system and the lawyers to keep them honest.
