You can collect unemployment when you're fired for general incommpetence - presumably because it is something that should have been caught during the interview process. Employers make up BS reasons to fire people so the recently terminated can't collect unemployment.
Which reminds me, insubordination seems like a perfectly good reason to fire someone. If an employee has been told not to surf the web or play solitaire, when they keep doing it there is no reason why they shouldn't be fired. It is indicative of other, more serious problems. The same kind of 'attitude' problem my high school principal told me I had. . .
