Did anyone see the Discovery channel special that was on the other day? The average US home produces about 5 tons of CO2 a year. This can be cut by 60% if you changed your life style a bit... using energy efficient light bulbs, unplugging appliances when not in use, etc.
We can probably sustain electric cars if people would just make a better effort at conserving energy.
i.e. shut off your comps once in a while...
