Crypto is a tremendously engaging, true story which centers around math without going into too much depth. The math is described using very easy to follow analogies.
It has the best aspects of Simon Singh's 'The Code Book' without going into the level of detail which would turn off most of your students. I could see it being a very motivational book for a young person.
