It happened in Dallas too, they gave a guy a truck and a fake bomb and a building to blow up. Then they celebrated when they caught the terrorist. I am not sure why his defense is not "I knew the bomb was fake".

I am surprised how many people think Blackberries have some special encryption technology. This is no longer in anyway unique.
3DES not truly being any more secure than any of the HTTPS encryption standards, it does nothing. It will route all your mail traffic through RIM for you.
It really does very little that can't be done with ActiveSync. There was a time when BES allowed access to a longer email history, but that has not been true for about 5 years.
I believe BES costs more and does not support as large of attachments as activesync. Maybe those are features. BES will log all of the SMS messages. Ask your legal, HR, or compliance departments if they consider that a feature (most of them will want you to make sure it is not turned on).

I have spent a few hours with one, it does not blow anything away. The Xoom is a much better tablet. Neither is even in the same category as an iPad 2 or 3.
The playbook is clumsy and slow. I never understood where RIM finds these cheerleaders.
My phone gets backed up pretty regularly. Wipe away.

Betamax lived until everything went digital. Not sure you can say Sony really "got out"... In fact all of their digital stuff is still based on Beta (Betacam). They have been very supportive of the niche market Beta has with professionals.
I do my own taxes so i am concerned about the "vast extent of effort" you put into avoiding taxes by actually hiring an account to screw the rest of us.
Because Apple is a corporation (and one that is not soley operated in this country). Eventually their profits will be paid out as dividends and shareholders will have to pay additional tax on them. Also, you did not pay more in taxes than Apple. Stop playing with numerical fallacies, it looks silly.
You make some pretty poor assumption there. First, they don't lose any business because of it. Anyone who cares knows when they are open and it is kind of their shtick. Second, just because they close on Sunday because of religious or family or whatever reason they are claiming, you assume they want to pay more in taxes than they are required to do so.
These companies are not cheating. They are operating within the bounds of an extremely convoluted system. Instead of claiming these companies are "not paying their fair share", we should point out how they are not paying more in taxes than required. If people believe the system is not fair, they should change it. You can not possibly blame company officers for exercising their fiduciary responsibility and maximizing shareholder value (well within the bounds of any applicable law).
I mentioned the seminars previously. Suffice to say there is a whole industry bent on making sure people know how to make everything a business expense.
There are seminars accross the country packed with thousands of people every day. These people are learning how to try and do just that. Buying specific cars because they can still be deprecated. Putting their children on the payroll. Good times.
I thought the story was absurd until I read your comment. I thought your comment was absurd until I read the responses. I give up.
Slashdot must avoid all stories about global finance. The only thing more moronic than the fact-free summaries are the knee jerk comments.
The first thing most of you should remember is that Apple earns most of its income outside of the United States. Second, how many of you know wether 9.8% is a low, medium, or high level of corporate taxation for a global electronics maker? Third, do any of you bother to think before commenting (or apparently voting on stories).
If you do think, here is the process. Read baseless story about Apple being bad. Think, "I hate Apple.". Write inane comment. Profit.
It is actually appearing in Science. A blog post discussing the study was on the nature web site. Interesting how you shot down a study you have not even read (Since it has not been published yet). You sound like a person trying to sound like they understand research and science. It is pretty clear you are not a person who does. It is also clear you did not bother to read the Abstract or even the blog post on nature.
I have no comment on the validity of the study since I have not read it. I am prepared to evaluate your/. post. I find your post completely unsupported. You miss stated basic facts and failed to provide any supporting documentation.
I agree it is insane. I am not sure how stupid you would have to be to try and take a 4 year old off to a screening room without a parent or guardian. I do know there is no amount of training that can overcome this level of stupidity. Perhaps this agency needs higher standards. Perhaps a few of these "agents" need to be charged with attempted kidnapping.
" She also said TSA agents wanted to screen her granddaughter alone in a separate room."
You really support that? You truly support the TSA agents taking a 4 year old girl away from her family to screen her in a separate room? You think the state searching children without their parents present is ok? You are sure your ok with that? That is what you want the world to be like? Your totally sure you support the TSAs action? Of course you don't. All you demonstrated was your a mindless drone that couldn't bother to even read the article. Maybe it would have helped to read what the family was actually complaining about.
Except it is based on a completely false assumption that came from never bothering to read the article. It was a reaction to the other comments and not the article itself. It was designed to elicit a response from other readers and not enhance the discussion. It is in fact a very obvious troll.

Are you sure? Than perhaps it would be more ethical not to pay any taxes at all.

His entry level guys are corporations paying corporate taxes? Wtf does any of this have to do with Steve Jobs tax rate?
Thing is, Apple earns income all over. Not just here in the US and not in California.

So its not just that religion doesn't work if you think about it. Religion doesn't work if you think about anything.

You must work for the TSA. Funny your subject is RTFA, but you clearly did not.

Seriously. The article is not that long. Could have saved you from writing both of you misinformed posts.
