It happened in Dallas too, they gave a guy a truck and a fake bomb and a building to blow up. Then they celebrated when they caught the terrorist. I am not sure why his defense is not "I knew the bomb was fake".

It really does very little that can't be done with ActiveSync. There was a time when BES allowed access to a longer email history, but that has not been true for about 5 years.

I believe BES costs more and does not support as large of attachments as activesync. Maybe those are features. BES will log all of the SMS messages. Ask your legal, HR, or compliance departments if they consider that a feature (most of them will want you to make sure it is not turned on).

Because Apple is a corporation (and one that is not soley operated in this country). Eventually their profits will be paid out as dividends and shareholders will have to pay additional tax on them. Also, you did not pay more in taxes than Apple. Stop playing with numerical fallacies, it looks silly.

You make some pretty poor assumption there. First, they don't lose any business because of it. Anyone who cares knows when they are open and it is kind of their shtick. Second, just because they close on Sunday because of religious or family or whatever reason they are claiming, you assume they want to pay more in taxes than they are required to do so.

These companies are not cheating. They are operating within the bounds of an extremely convoluted system. Instead of claiming these companies are "not paying their fair share", we should point out how they are not paying more in taxes than required. If people believe the system is not fair, they should change it. You can not possibly blame company officers for exercising their fiduciary responsibility and maximizing shareholder value (well within the bounds of any applicable law).

Slashdot must avoid all stories about global finance. The only thing more moronic than the fact-free summaries are the knee jerk comments.

The first thing most of you should remember is that Apple earns most of its income outside of the United States. Second, how many of you know wether 9.8% is a low, medium, or high level of corporate taxation for a global electronics maker? Third, do any of you bother to think before commenting (or apparently voting on stories).

If you do think, here is the process. Read baseless story about Apple being bad. Think, "I hate Apple.". Write inane comment. Profit.

It is pretty clear you are not a person who does. It is also clear you did not bother to read the Abstract or even the blog post on nature.
