I hate to burst your bubble, but I've had my hands on a cracked copy of win2k before it even hit the shelves. The reason you don't hear about this stuff is because someone bragging about it would be like.. the moths lighting themselves on fire. My main problem with windows (for a long time now) is that it throws functionality out the window for ease of use... To the point where it's insulting.
And they all act suprised when some tiny kid can use it.
I personally think the this is terrible publicity, unless all you care about is how cute some kid is.

I was thoroughly disgusted from the sheer bloatedness of realplayer from the start. Why can't there be a simple player that just opens the file and plays it? Thats all I want the thing for. not whatever lame news servers they have or any of that crap. It's the same with Quicktime. They don't have a simple viewer, they gotta make this big deal out of it and throw these stupid "give us money" questions in your face for just the viewer. it's really sad. (and a few meg. pretty gay.) and yes, if there was a simple program that played media files and wasn't bloated to hell, I would pay for it.
I think just about anyone who takes these sort of things seriously enough to spend money would get a better connection then a modem. Especially from 3com.:) I hooked up a cable modem through mediaone for $40/month and it flat out makes any analog modem unacceptable. and $40 isn't much more than an isp+phone line. and the driving force behine it was a better gaming experience. I've never seen a modem get better pings than 200, but it was usually about 330. I hear dsl is about the same as cable, and i get 10-70 ping most of the time. Of course all of these numbers depend on the servers, etc.. It's actually really sad to me that they still make modems. They're such a waste of time and money. (and yes, I would have moved somewhere if dsl/cable wasn't available where I lived)
I got some serious flashbacks when you mentioned deu. I can still remember making my first DOOM map.:) Interesting how I just happened to notice a post on slashdot from someone like yourself. Oh well, have a nice day.

I had the opportunity to try on those 3d glasses that come with the ELSA card (the ones that utilize 2 lcd panels)
If I buy a 3d card, it's going to come with 3d glasses. I don't need 100fps. I need complete 3d immersion.
I think 3dfx should wake up and smell the coffee. My _voodoo2_ is fast enough. It's all about image quality now.

I did a lot of research when buying my camera, and found this to be the best bang for the buck, at $500.

you need to make sure that you get OPTICAL zoom because digital is the same as pulling it into photoshop and making it bigger.
This camera also can record small movies (about 30-90 seconds) and has support for the ibm microdrive, which can store 350 meg on it.
It also has a lot of control over the image, unlike most of the cheaper cameras.
