  1. Who gives a flying f**k anyway? on Russian Hopes To Cash In On Emoticons · · Score: 2, Insightful

Who the hell cares. As if Russians give a damn about western laws. Same goes the other way round. What a lame sod he is. Good luck enforcing your lame copyright dude. :-) Wanker

  2. Who has JS disabled anyway? on jQuery in Action · · Score: 1

I find all these very emotional responses of people saying that it should all run with JS disabled tiring. Who has it disabled anyway? Come on.

Heheheh. i can see what you mean :) but still. Must be possible. Accelerate the ship gradually till something like 20.000 Km/Hour and let her rip!

Why have there not been more studies into using railgun-like technology to fire large mass objects like satellites, fuel and raw building materials into space to use there? Something like a monorail bullet train on speed (traveling in a large looped track under vacuum to gain speed and then being ejected to a very big ramp for the shoot up into the sky) You could even build up speed gradually so even sensitive equipment such as satellites wouldn't have to suffer from acceleration. How fast should a streamlined package need to go if you fire it up that way? Anyone?

I never read anything on /. about the far better solution of using compressed air. There are now 2 companies already making these engines. One in France and one in Australia. Run as clean as you can produce electricity (so pretty clean) and you can fill up your tank within minutes. All this focus on internal combustion engines and never thinking out of the box...

  6. QUadrofolio on Boeing 787 Dreamliner Delayed Again · · Score: 1

I think justice is served. I remember the smug Boeing remarks all to well saying that the delay for Airbus was sure to break the company (Ok, combined with the Euro political mess they had). Now the shoe is on the other foot I am only to glad to say: How you like me now! Airbus has it problems but the EU is producing some very technological advanced stuff nowadays. I for one am proud to see these flying giants!

  7. An unarmed citizenry...? on Are National ID Cards a Good Idea? · · Score: 1

This comment is what is deeply wrong with the prevalent American ideas about gun control. Is there a lamer anwer possible. So you really have that little faith in your elected representatives that you need to have a gun at the ready just in case? What a load of crap. Nowhere in the civilized world are there more shootings between citizens then in the US but they still persist in claiming that guns are there for safety purposes. Incredible to any European. An identity card does take away much of your basic rights to privacy but that concept was a myth anyway. When you drive around you already needed to have an ID. This only makes it a bit worse. In Holland we need to have an ID from 14 years up with us all the time. I can't say I follow this law nor do any of my friends. So a law without enforcement doesn't do all that much then...
