the easiert way ive found to explain it to my freinds actually came from one of them telling me how he builds houses.
each part of the software has elements like windows, doors, room size, and each room peforms different functions like a bathroom has different elements than a living room. so i say building a program is like building a house, only you dont want windows or itll break!:-p
