I would like to know what evidence there is that there ever was a magnetic reversal.
Check out this page from a book by Walt Brown. There is a section about this a little over halfway down the page under the section called Magnetic Variations on the Ocean Floor. I think this is where people come up with the notion of past reversals, but there is no true evidence.
