well, i bought the AppleCare package for my Powerbook (pismo), and it's long since paid for itself. I've had about $1500 worth of "out of warranty" repairs (new screen (about $700) and new CPU module (about $800)) that were covered by AppleCare, so I'd have to say that it's worth it. Laptops can get pretty beat up being carried around so better safe than sorry, IMO.
