  1. Re:3rd Party voting - can't go wrong in USA on Is An Uninformed Vote Better Than No Vote? · · Score: 1

buddy, what's in your opinion wrong with election system in US? Say, 40+% are for Republicans 40+% are for dem's. Who cares about the rest? This is democracy, where majority rulez! Let's say, I really care about environmental issues, but I don't give a f**k for greens in politics! I just want them OUT! I don't need theese 3rd parties - the same is tru for 90+% of a current electorate! I don't care about this sexual-political 2-5% majority - unless this fuck**g minority starts to push the things nobody entitled them to push! Just stay with your 2-5%!

Obviously Wikipedia is based on majority. Just have a look on discussions about any controversial topic about the history, arts, or even science (let's say - Evolution versus creationism). On one hand that's fine, because discussions are boosters of progress. On another - this is something like majority against minority. Remember: Minority might be wrong. But majority is never right.

If M$ can fix security issues of Window$, no chance that I will let some 3rd party f*****s like Symantec (Norton AV is able to make any hightech system behave like 10 years old Pentium3), MyAffee, Krispersky or what to f**k with the security of my Window$ boxes! Theese are just plain parasites! Window$ should be made secure (that's task of M$), and theese companies which made their business on the bases of Window$ vulnerabilities should just disappear!

  6. Old hard-, soft- & OS-ware should NOT be supor on Windows XP SP1 Support Ends Tuesday · · Score: 1

IMHO, one of the biggest problem for any given OS (Windows or Linux, at least), is support for old hard- and soft-ware. I haven't seen any Pentium-III box around since three years, when I donated my Gericom laptop to a local charity. Now, what we are discussing here: SP1 on Windows??? Please, tel me, when did YOU install SP1 on your Windows box? I can tell you 'bout myself - I tested it the next day after M$ released it! Actually I don't think Microsoft should NOT support ANY Windows installation which is not upgraded till the level of SP2.

  7. Real situation with OS licences in Germany on GPL Successfully Defended in German Court · · Score: 1

That's realy funny, that something like this happens in Germany, where at a typical german University the majority of WindowsXP public installations are not properly licensed (University Department buys single licence install from their local 'Rechenzentrum' and installs OS to any computer they have or will have in the future. Unofficially the Dean of the Faculty finds no problem hetre - Windows is american, why to pay americans - this is close to official policy), and around 25% of personal laptops carry pirated Windows.

  8. Re:Upgrading boxes on Can Linux Pick Up Users Abandoning Win98? · · Score: 1

IMHO, there is too much fuss about old hardware. I don#t see ANY reason why ANY operation system should support anything below Pentium III, not to mention that myself I haven't seen any Pentium III in years... Old hardware should be recycled, in particular because of concerns about too high energy consumption.
