/me astonished So let's see. If you use vim in GUI (Gnome perhaps) and fcuk up it's own conf file you are doomed right? But if you use vim in CLI to do the same siht then what? You missed the point. Because the point is about what is the easiest and not the safest way to do it. /me out "Quit! To few arguments!"

Damn! You are somehow right. Doing tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-ta c-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac- toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-to c-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc- tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-ti c-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic-tac-toc-tic- tac-toc-tic it's much easier then "point&click&click back&click next submenu&click back&oh! here it is! fscking checkbox! As another fan of GUI I can safely say that all I need is to wait until computers will be directly connected to our brains. Until then just let me decide what input system (CLI/GUI/whatever) is more appropriate for a speciffic task. Would ya? Give me a break man. It's not in what you know but in what you remember. ;) And is easy to remember a suite of "clicking-steps" then a lots of paths and tools and their parameters. When the interface is intuitive (too bad that this happens in just 30% of the cases) you even don't need to remember all those steps not to mention that if you used a program once then a clone of it we'll have almost the same interface. It's hard to miss the "Submit" buton as it is staring at you right now. But, if you write "grep etc /var/log/pakcages/foo-1.tzgvim /ect/foo/foo.cnof" it will never work. Right? Part of my job is to write some tools for others to use. Most of them are GUI addicted and when I deliver a CLI tool there are many voices to say: WTF?! Make a GUI for this dude! They simply can not see that a GUI can be so restrictive in some circumstances as using a bunch of CLI tools to perform a task that can be very simple if is integrated in a GUI.

Do ya really think that typing on your keyboard is easier then point&click or that this can be compared with speech? Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that switching from a habbit to another is not an easy process and this apply in both ways. And is true that it is harder for one to switch from GUI to cmd then from cmd to GUI. Also is proven by facts that is harder to switch from Win to Lin not beacuse og cmd threat but also because of different philosophy. Linux wasn't built fore ease but for power. This doesn't apply to Windows.

At least you don't need to write Km's of parameters right? You'll get use to that. Take it slowly and I beleive that you'll become a mouse guru before I'll become a console rat.
